Applications in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) market generally have greater durability requirements than those in many other markets. Like their major appliance counterparts, HVAC components typically have a life expectancy of ten years or greater, and are subjected to heat, humidity, corrosives, potential consumer abuse, and (in applications such as heat pumps and air conditioners) the extremes of outdoor weather. They therefore represent a unique challenge for the types of electrical and electronic components produced by Mursix.
