Mursix has long been involved in the automotive safety market through its manufacture of a variety of components used in airbags. Over the past few years, we have expanded our participation in this important and growing market with the production of several seat belt components for some of the industry’s largest manufacturers. These components include both channel and buckle components, on which our annual volume is approaching 20 million units.

The channel components are produced on our versatile multislide machines, which eliminate secondary operations and excess handling, and incorporate a number of value-added operations such as tapping into the basic part production process. The buckle components are stamped on a 200-ton press and then further processed in a Bihler rotary press, which performs several different punching operations on the part before folding the assembly to a gap tolerance of .005". Both the channel and buckle parts are heat-treated and coated before final shipping.
