Appliance
With a life expectancy of ten years or greater, combined with internal and external environments that include exposure to heat, humidity, corrosives, load, and potential consumer abuse, appliances represent a unique challenge for the types of electrical components produced by several of the Mursix divisions.
A typical example is the contact sets that are used to switch electrical loads in washers, dryers, and dishwashers. The ability to perform accurate, high-speed staking of contacts onto metal stampings enables Mursix to provide millions of electrical and electronic assemblies to the major appliance industry every year. In fact, we annually insert more than 100 million contacts of various sizes and compositions. We pioneered the development of in-die contact staking and have continued to improve this process with fiber optic and load cell technology.
