Plating Materials

At the TFX Plating Division of Mursix, we use tin, silver, zinc, copper, and various combinations of these materials.

Tin: A non-toxic, solderable material known for its resistance to corrosion and tarnish. We use tin for a variety of automotive and electrical applications because of its excellent solderability, electrical conductivity, and corrosion resistance.

Copper: We use copper to plate electrical parts because of its electrical conductivity and also as an undercoat material on parts that are subsequently plated with tin.

Silver: High purity, ductility, solderability, and outstanding electrical conductivity make silver the plating material of choice for TFX Plating’s electrical and electronic customers.

Zinc: Zinc provides economical corrosion and oxidation resistance by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Our trivalent zinc finishes have proven to provide excellent corrosion resistance.
