History & Ownership

For more than 65 years, the Mursix Corporation and its predecessor, Twoson Tool Company, have been delivering custom-engineered product solutions to our customers. Founded in 1945 in Fairmount, Indiana, Twoson was purchased in 1990 by the Mursix Corporation, owned by the Murray family. In the ensuing 20 years, Mursix (with manufacturing and administrative facilities located in Muncie, Indiana) has invested millions of dollars in equipment, facilities, and infrastructure, and has grown to be one of the most respected manufacturers in the U.S. and around the world.

In 1995, Tom Brokaw of NBC interviewed Mursix CEO Steve Murray for an NBC Nightly News story on how mid-sized companies were creating new jobs.

In 2008, Mursix was designated one of the inaugural "Indiana Companies to Watch" by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation as part of a program designed that recognizes the state's most promising companies, and in 2010 was recognized by the IEDC as one of five "Spotlight Award" companies.

In 2011, we combined the manufacturing operations of our former Twoson Tool, Twoson ESP, and TFX Plating Divisions in a completely new, state of the art manufacturing and headquarters facility in Yorktown, Indiana.
